Steampunk Automata “Orchestra Von Slatt”, Completed

It looks like I’m finally finished my first attempt at an automata. I think overall it turned out pretty well. Its a pretty basic little machine but it definitely gets the trick done. You’ll have to click the link for the video since my blog doesn’t support embedding until I upgrade. Here’s the pictures and a video link:

Over 20" tall and the base is 10"x10". You can see the crank on the side.

Even got a little pair of goggles on his hat!

The twin wheels, driven by the crank on the other side. Still need to sand down the pipes actually, you can see the ink on the far right. Whoops!

I’ll be displaying this at the upcoming VCon 35 in Vancouver and SteamCon II. Come by and give it a whirl.
